Founder's Day

Paper Airplane Contest

The Mathematics and Physics faculty proudly announce the Founder’s Day Paper Airplane Contest.

All supplies will be provided and airplane building will begin at 1pm in the Huff Athletic Center.

Launchings will begin at 1:23pm from the Huff balcony. 

Prizes will be awarded based on distance, accuracy, and style. 

Open to all Monmouth alumni, students, faculty, staff, and family. 

 


What:  Monmouth College Founder's Day Airplane Contest

When:  Founder's Day (April 24th) from 1:00 pm to 2:30pm

Where:  Huff Athletic Center Balcony

We will start building the paper airplanes at 1:00 pm in the Main Lobby - all supplies will be provided.

You may use the following materials to build your paper airplane:

            One or two standard-size sheets of 20lb. copy paper

            One standard paper clip (optional)

            Three inches of tape (optional)

            Three staples (optional)

 

Official launchings can begin at 1:23pm and will be thrown onto the running track below.  You may have as many practice throws as you like.

 

You will be allowed three attempts in each category

            (1)  distance/accuracy

            (2)  flight time

            (3)  style 

 

The best airplane in each category will win a gift certificate to the Soda Works.

Afterwards, please stay around and help clean up the Huff.
